A national capability agenda for one of the defining technologies of the 21st century.
New Zealand has a strong foundation in photonics and quantum science and an opportunity to turn that capability into long-term economic, technological and societal impact.
Our new Quantum & Photonics New Zealand Manifesto sets out a national capability agenda for two of the defining technology areas of the 21st century. It highlights the opportunity for Aotearoa New Zealand to build on its strengths in quantum technologies and to choose to be a maker, not simply a taker, of these technologies.
The statement identifies the conditions needed to realise this potential: stronger national alignment, investment in infrastructure and skills, long-term funding, supportive policy settings, and pathways from research to commercialisation and international growth.
Quantum & Photonics New Zealand exists to help enable this progress. We connect researchers, businesses, investors, government, end-users and partners; make capability more visible; and create opportunities for collaboration across the ecosystem.
We invite the community to read the statement, share its perspectives and help shape a globally relevant quantum and photonics future for Aotearoa New Zealand
